The statistics are amazing, and so many people do not even know they have this disease. The stats state that 24 million people are affected by diabetes in the United States, and only 18 million know that they have it or have been diagnosed. That means there is a total of 6 million people that do not even realize they have diabetes. I remember when I was part of that 6 million, and now that I have been diagnosed its scary to realize that I had such a serious disease and did not even know!
